This site is located in a quiet residential area along the Ashiya River, overlooking the foot of Mt. Rokko to the north and the Seto Inland Sea to the south, and you can also see the guesthouse designed by the light. There is a modern heritage storehouse built in 1945 on the premises, and from the beginning it was planned to make use of it without demolishing it.

Since the entire site is surrounded by the texture of the Tsukiji wall and a certain level of privacy is ensured, the building has a bold openness that is usually difficult, and a plan that allows children and families to always be connected to the garden and nature is planned. It was realized.

The newly built main building has a modern and light design, and the difference in weight and age of the building from the warehouse built about 100 years ago stands out. The entrance to the site has a geometrical gate reminiscent of the Drop Museum in the city, and the Oya stone wall, which is the same as the light-designed guesthouse, draws on the flow of designs rooted in the region.

While the main building can be seen and hidden from the entrance of the gate, we walk the approach of iron flat stone paving between the lanterns on both sides and the Enkianthus perulatus. After that, if you go through the tunnel of Japanese maple and Japanese cedar, which is dyed red in autumn, you will come across the entrance of the main building and the warehouse, and the glass-walled corridor connecting them, but the line of sight goes to the courtyard beyond the glass, which is also in autumn. Enkianthus perulatus with gorgeous autumn leaves and Takagi of Himalayan cedar, which is a symbol, welcome you.

The main main building, LDK, has a ceiling height of 3.2m in consideration of the height of the master, and the slim design of the lattice windows with raised edges is directed toward the garden and warehouse, and it is open while feeling the existence of the historical warehouse. It is a space where you can enjoy a nice garden. The guest house, which doubles as a parking lot, comes with a golf room where you can spend time with your friends, and this room is also designed to face the main building and the warehouse, creating a good relationship between each building. There are no large structures in the garden other than the air raid shelter, so that children can spend their time playing to the fullest. No major construction work was carried out when renovating the warehouse, and the design of the time and the accumulation of time to date remain.
Memories of the bliss of the newly resident family will be added to the great flow of time that the old and new buildings make in this land.

本敷地は芦屋川沿いの閑静な住宅街に位置しており、北に六甲山麓、南側へは瀬戸内海を見渡し、またライト設計による迎賓館も視界に入る。敷地内に昭和2年に建てられた近代化遺産の蔵があり、当初よりこれを取り壊さずに活かして住まう計画であった。

敷地全体が築地塀の風合いで囲まれ一定のプライバシーが確保されていることから、通常では困難な大胆な開放性を持つ建物とし、お子様やご家族がいつも庭や自然と繋がっていられるようなプランが実現された。

新築される母屋はモダンで軽快感のあるデザインとし、およそ100年前に建てられた蔵との重量感の対比、建築年代の差異が引き立つ。敷地の入口は市内にある滴翆美術館を彷彿させる幾何学模様の門扉と、ライト設計の迎賓館と同じ大谷石張りの塀など、地域に根差した意匠の流れを汲んだ。

門を入る辺りから母屋の姿が見え隠れしつつ、両脇の灯篭とドウダンツツジに挟まれた鉄平石敷きのアプローチを歩く。その先で秋には紅色に染まるイロハモミジとコハウチハカエデのトンネルをくぐると、母屋と蔵の玄関、それらを結ぶガラス張りの渡り廊下に突き当たるが、視線はガラスの先の中庭へと抜け、そこもまた秋の紅葉が華やかなドウダンツツジと、シンボルとなるヒマラヤスギの高木が出迎える。

メインとなる母屋のLDKはご主人の背の高さを考慮し天井高が3.2mあり、エッジを立たせたスリムなデザインの格子窓を庭と蔵へ向け、歴史ある蔵の存在を感じながら開放的な庭を楽しめる空間とした。駐車場を兼ねたゲストハウスにはご友人との時間を過ごせるゴルフ室が付属し、またこの部屋も母屋と蔵と向き合った作りとなっており、各棟の程良い関連性が生まれている。庭には防空壕跡がある他には大きな構造物を設けず、子供たちが目一杯遊んで過ごせるようにした。蔵の改修に当たっては大きな造作工事は行わず、当時の意匠と、今日までの時間の積み重なりが残されている。
この土地で新旧の建物が感じさせる大きな時間の流れの中に、新たに住まわれるご家族の至福の記憶が描き足されていくだろう。
