Description

The site is situated in Shindagha, which comprises of a group of historic houses and is the area where the Al Maktoum ruling royal family of Dubai originally lived. As part of Dubai’s Historic District, along with Deira and Bur Dubai, it is currently undergoing major conservation and renovation work to turn the district into a prominent cultural destination by 2020. The vision for the District covers 155 hectares and will feature more than 60 projects, including the reconstruction of historic buildings, development of 35,000 square meters of museums and development of a wide range of cultural features.

The Perfume House will be located in the Shindagha Historic District of Dubai and will be the main point of approach for locals and visitors with a desire to learn about the history of Perfume and the recent developments of the industry.

The Perfume House will display an array of objects, including museum artefacts, personal objects lent
to the museum by interviewees or subject matter experts, as well as natural and synthetic materials illustrating raw perfume ingredients. Their distribution respects the content structure, as shown on this floor plan.
