The project consists of the rehabilitation of an old barn whose north facade is classified, Our position was to leave intact the North and South facades, openings are simply holes in the stone.
Double facades are built inside the building. From the inside, wood joinery windows frame the holes in the stone.
A dialogue in between two periods of construction and two typologies.
North side, the new facade is built 2 meters away from the old facade, a staircase that follows the exterior topography allows to connect under cover both access to the dwelling. A massive concrete structure is linking the stones facade and the concrete block facade to stabilize the structure of the barn.
