Description

The base buidling PH Casablanca uses emblematic flat red bricks, giving it identity in its neighbourhood , Santa Maria. We contacted the ditribuutor and started using it as an intenal material to create continuation and a certein sense of homogeneity to the interior design, resolving two important elements for the main living spaces. One is the creation of an entrance lobby with an internal division that functions as a credenza on its opposite side, towards the dining room. The other is a dividing wall between the open plan dining and living room and the family den area. This double brick wall hides a core of two sliding doors that can close the den area from the rest of the flat. On one side the wall is an art showcase, on the other side it forms a niche that serves the billiard area. Using materials from the base building in the interior creates a subtle link and the perception of continuity and unity between the communal and the private spaces.
The colours of the bricks and the wood of the furniture are closely coordinated so that the interaction of their different textures takes on greater importance and is contrasted by the light marble floors. Another link to the materials of the base building - is the use of carrara marble to clad the niches in the buffet area at the end of the dining room and along the billiard table in the study.
