Streetmekka ViborgRealized

GAME Streetmekka Viborg is a renovation project that transformed an abandoned windmill factory into a vibrant hub for street sports and street culture, offering various facilities for self-organized sports and social spaces for the local youth of Viborg in Denmark.

The introvert industrial building is opened-up, and the impressive factory hall is transformed into a new kind of interior space: a covered streetscape opening up to the outside. The existing uninviting and worn-out facade is wrapped in a new robust and performative translucent skin, giving the building a light and welcoming appearance while maintaining coherence with the industrial context.
