Back to the Future Wild WestDesign Presentation

In terms of land use, as a species, we are dramatically expanding our footprint on the land surface. We build our cities adding districts, side by side while criticizing suburban sprawl. We lay our artefacts on the planet until there’s no more space for wilderness and as we do so we are increasingly concerned (have sad, worried, guilty feelings) about our endangered Mother Earth.

What if we were to move upward? Imagine a land where the buffalo roams.
The light railway system can be the occasion to shift in that direction, the first step towards a new city planning. The north south axis becomes the backbone of the new city. Starting from the outskirts, the Elevated Green Light Rail Transit can act as a urban vacuum cleaner. In the long term all activities related to human life can be housed above. The surface of the planet free for movement of all.
