Description Original Language (Catalan)

The house, with a materiality and finishes that are too cold and not related to its situation in the middle of the mountain and a distribution that is not adapted to the needs, is completely reformed to transform it into a warm home, adapted, and in relation to its environment For this, wood finishes with a lot of texture, matte broken white and black iron are used to give it contrast.

One of the main elements of the project was to create a vertical wooden connection, a filter type that evokes the verticality and materiality of the nearby woods and reinforces this privileged situation between sky and earth.

The house is divided into four floors: the underground parking floor; the ground floor where there is the kitchen-dining room and the living room with a large outdoor terrace-garden; the first floor where we find a bathroom and two double bedrooms, the largest with a dressing room and ready to transform into two in the future. On the ground floor we find the master suite with a dressing room and a bathroom.

With the intention of modifying the facilities as little as possible, on the ground floor it was decided to demolish all the internal dividing elements to create a single space, completely free and open... the inside and the outside are intertwined in a continuity that it starts at the entrance to the house to the mountainous landscape that can be seen from the terrace. The custom-made furniture and lighting reinforce this strong visual relationship and continuity.

As for the underground floor, it follows the same concept and the whole floor becomes a large space/volume that integrates a suite with dressing room and bathroom. Again, the custom-made furniture and lighting help to segment the spaces without losing the notion of a single volume. The head of the bed is part of the dressing room furniture, and at the same time there is a diffused integrated lighting above that reinforces the reading of the volume of the under-deck. The dressing room is made up of tall, white wardrobes and a large mirror that reflects them, generating a feeling of spaciousness and brightness. In this space we find a mobile iron lamp that reinforces the verticality and great height and contrasts with the white of the dressing room. Finally, the bathroom is expanded to generate a large space that includes a shower and a hydromassage bathtub.

Finally, at the heart of the house, we find the staircase that becomes the conceptualizing and connecting element of all the floors. A large vertical filter-type wooden element that runs from the floor of the ground floor to the ceiling of the top floor. Both on the ground floor and on the ground floor, the filter rotates on the ceiling and, between its cans, lines of LED lights appear that illuminate the spaces. Black iron plates make up the handrail and other finishing elements between the steps as well as the glass supports. Elements whose materiality and color contrast with the wood and white of the house as a whole.
