A healing resort in the city

It is a renovation of a wooden house built in a quiet residential area. The owner and his wife were interested in the house we were previously involved in (resort life renovation, published in A-collection No. 20), and were looking for emotions from the material composition and healing from the basin.
We have made some ingenuity to transform it into a resort space. Manufactured two 50-square deep joint tiles to connect the inside and outside. The tiled fence that surrounds the garden connects to the walls of the room with the same texture. Because it is a wooden house, the level difference between the ground and the inner floor of the garden is large, and if you make a basin normally, you will not be able to see the water surface from the perspective of sitting. The terrace surface was raised to the level of 1FL, and the water surface was set close to that level to enhance the hydrophilicity. By extending the eaves and narrowing the view from the inside, the reality of the proximity of the adjacent building has been eliminated. The eaves are also effective in blocking direct sunlight and expanding the eaves to connect the inside and outside more smoothly. The chandelier in the dining room has been relocated to the landing of the staircase that can be seen from the dining room. It shines like a light that you couldn't feel in a dining room with a lot of outside light. From the staircase, you can see the basin through the chandelier. If you go up to the second floor, you will find a corner with antique furniture that gives you the atmosphere of your old life.
The effect of the proximity of the basin is great, and the light from the water surface enters the room as indirect light during many hours of the day, coloring the atrium ceiling of the dining room. The two waterside terraces can be relaxed as an outside dining room where you can have a barbecue and as an outside living room where you can enjoy a drink at night. By looking at the surface of the water, I received the words, "I forget the time ...". It seems that a home party is being held where a wife who is good at cooking wields her skills, making use of this space inside and outside where there are plenty of places to live. It has become a luxurious healing house where guests can feel the extraordinary life of a hotel as a daily life.

都会に佇む癒しのリゾート

閑静な住宅街に建つ木造住宅のリノベーションです。お施主さんご夫妻は、私たちが以前携わった住宅（リゾートライフリノベーション・A-collection20号掲載）に興味をお持ちで、素材構成による情感と水盤による癒しを求めておられました。
リゾート空間に変えていくために、いくつかの工夫をしました。内外をつなぐものとして、50角２丁の深目地タイルを製作。庭を囲むタイルの塀は、同じ質感で室内の壁面へつながります。木造住宅ゆえに庭の地面と内部床のレベル差が大きく、普通に水盤をつくると、腰かけた視点から水面が見えなくなります。テラス面を1FLのレベルまで上げて、水面もそのレベル近くに設定して親水感を強めました。庇を延ばして内部からの視界を絞りこむことで、隣の建物の近接による現実感を解消しました。庇は直射日光を遮ること、軒下が広がり内外をよりスムーズにつなぐことのためにも効いています。ダイニングにあったシャンデリアは、ダイニングから見える階段室の踊り場に移設しました。外光が多いダイニングでは感じられなかった、光を孕むような輝きを放っています。階段室からはシャンデリア越しに水盤を見ることができます。２階へ上がりきれば以前の暮らしの雰囲気が感じられるアンティークな家具が置かれているコーナーが広がります。
水盤の近さによる効果は大きく、日中の多くの時間帯に水面の光が間接光として室内に入り、ダイニングの吹き抜け天井を彩ります。水辺の２つのテラスは、バーベキューができる外部ダイニングとして、夜はお酒を楽しむ外部リビングとして、くつろぐことができます。水面を眺めることで「つい時を忘れてしまう…」との言葉をいただきました。居場所が豊富なこの内外の空間を活かして、料理上手な奥さまが腕を振るうホームパーティーが開かれているようです。ゲストが感じるホテルのような非日常を、日常として感じることができる贅沢な癒しのお家となりました。
