Description Original Language (Catalan)

The renovation of this apartment was carried out through a volumetric work to "fill" with sculptural filters a space that has become diaphanous.

These filters of intense black materiality, built with vertical elements of different thicknesses, which through their rhythm and vibration reveal the space to us in a dynamic way. With different proportions and orientations, they fulfill different functions such as: library, picture frame, door, wardrobe, wash basin, headboard, dressing room... according to their thoughtful situation.

Through these elements, the distribution that was there before is transformed: a "conflicting" distribution with many setbacks and spaces not adapted or well used by the new program. The distribution takes place in an orderly and rigorous plan through the project's black filters.

The kitchen with a large central island is completely black with different textures and reflections: finishes such as wood, matt or glossy lacquer as well as natural Zimbabwe stone materialize the black giving a great depth typical of Soulages works.

The living-dining room, a white space where the black filters stand out and become protagonists due to their important dimensionality in the space.

The master bedroom is a suite with dressing room and bathroom, three filters are the main protagonists: one that gives privacy to the bathtub and shower area at the same time that serves as a support for the television. A second filter is where we find the sink and dressing table, and a third that works as a headboard and dressing room at the same time.

The courtesy bathroom at the entrance has been designed as if the “interior” of a filter were being treated: completely black, flooring made of large pieces of slate, walls covered with different types of stone, iron and black wood... providing a unique atmosphere.
