Connecting multi-directional scenery

It is a house planned in the suburbs of Hiroshima city. The Yawata River flows to the west of the site, and if you look to the north, you can see the mountains leading to Yuki Onsen. Furthermore, to the south, the wooded area of my parents' house was continuous with the site, creating a rich environment where you can enjoy the scenery in multiple directions. The owner chose this place where he could leave his home in the city center and live a life surrounded by his hobbies, outdoor doors and plants, along with a rich natural environment. In this plan, as a "house where the scenery is connected in multiple directions", the whole is constructed while considering the unique way of looking according to each direction. In other words, I thought that a house like "a node connecting living and scenery" would be suitable for this place, and proceeded with the plan.

[South direction]
An L-shaped south garden and LDK have been placed to create a connection with the thickets of the parents' house that can be seen in front. The opening of the LDK can be opened in an L shape to fit the garden. In addition, it creates a deep eaves space together with the garden, adjusts the sunlight, and also functions as a rain shield for plants. Furthermore, by creating a large staircase that looks like an audience seat as an extension of the living room, we have created a space where you can enjoy the view of the garden by sitting down, not just as a function of raising and lowering.
[West direction]
You can see the Hachiman River from the westward view, but considering that there is a lot of traffic along the river and there is a lot of line of sight and noise during the day, we built a "sloping fence". By cutting the fence diagonally, it becomes an intermediate situation between "opening" and "closing", and you can enjoy the scenery without a line of sight while closing. In addition, the slope of the fence combined with the roof creates an integral connection with the building, and is in harmony with the mountains in the distant view. From the balcony on the 2nd floor, you can see the Hachiman River and its distant view.
[North direction]
You can see the mountains leading to Yuki Onsen. The landing of the stairs was expanded and a counter was set up to make it a study area. You can enjoy reading while feeling the changing scenery as well as going up and down the stairs. By opening the sash on the south side and the sash on the study counter, the wind will pass from north to south, and by opening the sash in the corridor on the second floor, the wind will also pass in the upward and downward directions.

For the owner, who has a lot of visitors, not only the living room but also the space where the guests can relax in various places is an important element of living. I think that a way of living that does not fix the place and does not limit the scenery is a new home to be built by the family.
