The owner is a husband who works in the financial industry and a wife who works in the luxury furniture industry. Since my husband used to work as a JAZZ musician, he started a plan to project the world of John Coltrane's music, which he calls his teacher, into his own living space.
When you enter the room from the entrance on the side of the piloti garage, a couple's bedroom is set up in the back and a sanitary room is set up in the foreground. Approach to the 2nd floor At the end of the stairs, there is a dining kitchen like "JAZZ BAR" where you can enjoy meals and drinks with your family and friends. Sufficient natural light is poured into the living room, which is characterized by a large atrium, through the skylight provided at the top. You can enjoy JAZZ to your heart's content while looking at the pictures of John Coltrane on the wall and the Cat Walk Bridge, which creates an industrial atmosphere.
In addition, the small balcony facing the front road has a steel louver that blocks the outside line of sight and protects privacy. On the 3rd floor, private spaces such as children's rooms are openly arranged, and access to the rooftop is also possible. Enjoy a garden party at the rooftop bar with frequent guests. By creating a vertically continuous studio without partitioning the interior of the compact space, it is finished as a small house like a theater where you can experience the story realistically.

施主は金融業界にお勤めの御主人とラグジュアリー家具業界にお勤めの奥様。以前御主人はJAZZミュージシャンとして活動していたことから、師と仰ぐジョン・コルトレーンの音楽が持つ世界感を自身の生活空間に投影したいと願い計画がスタートした。


ピロティーガレージサイドにある玄関から室内に入ると、奥に夫婦寝室、手前にサニタリーを設け、水廻り室内にはバスコートから落ち着いた光が注ぎ込む。2階へのアプローチ階段の先には、「JAZZ BAR」のようなダイニング・キッチンを設け、家族や気の合う友人と食事やお酒を楽むことが可能である。大きな吹き抜けが特徴的なリビングルームには、上部に設けた天窓から十分な自然光が注ぎこむ。インダストリアルな雰囲気を醸し出すキャット・ウォーク・ブリッジや、壁面に飾られたジョン・コルトレーンの写真を眺めながら、心ゆくまでJAZZを楽しむことができる。


また、前面道路に面した小さなバルコニーは、スチール製ルーバーのおかげで外部の視線が遮られ、プライバシーが守られている。3階は子供室等のプライベート空間をオープンに配置し、屋上へのアクセスも可能。頻繁に訪れるゲストと共にルーフトップバーでのガーデンパーティーを楽しむことができる。コンパクトな空間内部をあえて仕切らず、縦に連続するひとつながりのワンルームとすることで、物語をリアルに体感できるいわば劇場のような小住宅に仕上がっている。
